Program Description

Event Details

We are going to yarn bomb the library!  What does that mean?  Basically, we're going to add an explosion of color to the Pewaukee Public Library for the summer by first finger knitting long, woven strands of yarn, and then wrapping our creations all over the library for people to see and enjoy.

Anyone entering grades 6-12 can sign up for a take-home kit that contains supplies and instructions that will teach you how to do finger knitting.  It's super easy; we promise!  Turn your skein of yarn into a nice long piece of finger knitting at home when it's convenient for you.  The technique is pretty simple, and easy to do at home while you are talking with friends, watching TV, or listening to an audiobook.

Please return your completed finger knit project to the library no later than Wednesday, July 9 so we can use it to yarn bomb the Library on July 10.  Your bit of finger knitting will be part of a big community art project visible to everyone who visits!

Registration is required; supplies are limited.
